Working Together for Our Kids, For Our Future

Parents depend on early educators and child care providers to keep kids safe and get them ready for school.  With more than 200,000 early education workers in SEIU, we’re building the strength we need to ensure quality, consistent care and the education that our children deserve.

Working families across the state entrust their childrens' care to SEIU Florida Public Services Union members.  We help give kids the head start they need to be successful in life.  We drive buses to transport them safely.  And we keep kids off the streets and enrich their education in after-school programs while their parents are at work.

By joining together in SEIU Florida Public Services Union, Head Start employees are working to improve the lives of children in our care by:

Helping Kids by Providing Stable Careers for Workers
Higher wages, expanded training, improved benefits, and a voice at work translate into proper staffing levels and lower turnover rates. Kids are the big winners when they have access to experienced and well-trained workers.

Giving Workers A Voice to Improve Programs for Kids
Through SEIU, Head Start workers and managers work together to solve staffing and workload issues.

Ensuring Kids Get the Head Start They Need
SEIU works to make sure that the money allocated for Head Start, early childhood education, and childcare is used to improve the programs and to expand access so that every kid gets a good head start in life.
