Pinellas County Members Screen Candidates
Pinellas County Members Screen Candidates
In a sure sign that the political season is upon us, member political activists in both Pinellas and Orange Counties recently screened candidates in their areas. "Are you kidding? It really matters which candidates are elected to the Pinellas County school board," said bus driver Tia Blunt. "I want folks on that board who really understand what our members go through on a daily basis. These candidate screenings are so important. I wish more members understood that and made a little time for them in their schedules."

District 3 Pinellas school board member Peg O'Shea (yes, she's Irish) stands with a portion of the COPE activists who screened candidates on June 12, 2010. Left to right are Pat Putman (1199 Florida), Lee Davis, Jim Evans, Dennis Davis, Ms. O'Shea, Talmadge Andrews, Tom Kinem, Sonya Roundtree, Victor Williams, Katherine Harriel and Tia Blunt.

Pinellas school board, district 2 candidate Terry Krassner answers a member's question as Fonda Huff awaits her turn.

Longtime SEIU friend Linda Lerner (district 6) and Lew Williams (district 7) listen as James Jackson (district 7) makes his point.
